SYSA Welcomes Yesler Terrace

COACH ABDI and the BADGERS

Three teams from Yesler Terrace joined SYSA for Fall soccer this year.   This is a partnership between Seattle Housing Authority's Redevelopment Program and Beacon Hill Youth Soccer.

Coach Abdi has fond memories of his earliest soccer days with the Beacon Hill Badgers.  He grew up in Yesler Terrace.  He advanced through Seattle United and up to the Sounders Academy. Years later, he is returning to Beacon Hill Soccer with 25 kids from Yesler Terrace. Coach Abdi says, "Soccer meant everything to me as a kid.  I want these kids to have the same experience."  SYSA looks forward to growing this partnership with Coach Abdi and SHA for years to come.
