Team placement

The BHYS Club Registrar determines player placement on teams and may consider player requests for placement on a specific team. However, the first priority is balancing the number of players on team rosters. Requests for team placement will be honored for coaches, assistant coaches and team managers.

Players must be age-eligible for team placement. Age is determined by the player’s age on July 31. Players may not ‘play down’ on younger age teams. However, the registrar may allow a player to ‘play up’ on an older age team if it helps balance team rosters in strength and numbers.

Refunds

Full refunds are provided if BHYS is unable to place a registered player on a team. No refund is provided if a player attends one or more practices or games.

Financial Aid

BHYS welcomes ALL players regardless of ability to pay. If you need a fee reduction, request it when you reach your registration payment page. Please pay what you can afford.
Reduced fees for players 8 years and younger are $20.
Reduced fees for players 9 years and older are $40.
If you need full financial aid with $0 fee, contact BHYS.registrar@gmail.com.

Select and Premier Player Enrollment in Rec Soccer

Seattle Youth Soccer Association (SYSA), parent organization for BHYS, allows recreational teams to have a maximum of three “select” players. To maintain roster compliance, each player’s level of participation in "select" organizations must be documented. Players, teams, and/or coaches risk disqualification if found to be out of compliance with this rule.

A "select" player is defined by being rostered on a team that participates in the leagues defined as “select” in this document.

No players participating on a "premier" roster are allowed on recreational teams.

Coach Eligibility

No person shall be eligible to coach any BHYS team until that individual has received RMA clearance after submitting the Washington Youth Soccer Risk Management application (pursuant to Child & Adult Abuse Information Act). Assistant Coaches, Team Managers, Club Referees, etc. must receive RMA clearance prior to participating in any MSC activity.

Each team staff member must agree to a Code of Conduct during registration.
